A topographic survey is the foundation document of any development or infrastructure project. Get it wrong and every drawing, calculation and planning submission built on top of it is compromised. Our surveys are carried out using Trimble R10 GNSS and total station, tied to licensed Ordnance Survey control data, and issued with a datum certificate. The AutoCAD DWG we deliver is the file your planning consultant, engineer and landscape architect will work from — built to the standard they expect and referenced to the datum they need.

The process

How it works.

We establish datum

We set up a GPS base station on or near the site and tie it to OS National Grid using licensed Ordnance Survey control data. Every measurement taken during the survey references this datum, giving you a survey that connects precisely to the wider mapping environment.

We capture the site

Using a combination of Trimble R10 GNSS and total station, we systematically capture all ground features — hard and soft landscaping, boundaries, fences, drainage, utilities, trees and spot levels across the entire site area.

We draw

The AutoCAD DWG is produced from field observations and GPS data, with all features accurately plotted, labelled and layered. Contours are interpolated at the interval specified at briefing stage.

We deliver

The final AutoCAD DWG is issued within 5 working days, accompanied by an accuracy statement and a datum tie-in certificate confirming the survey's relationship to Ordnance Datum Newlyn and OS National Grid.
